Quick guide

How to generate JSON-LD schema markup

Structured data gives search engines explicit information about a page. This generator creates the syntax; your job is to provide accurate details that match the visible content.

01

Choose the schema type

Select the type that describes the page’s primary subject—not simply the result you hope to receive.

02

Enter accurate details

Complete the required fields and add useful optional properties that are supported by your page.

03

Test before publishing

Copy the markup, add it to the relevant page, and test the final live URL with Google’s tools.

Which schema type should you choose?

Local Business is suitable for a business with a physical location or a defined local service presence. Include a consistent name, website, phone number and postal address. Choose the closest valid subtype, but avoid using an unrelated category simply because it appears more specific.

Organization identifies a company, agency, nonprofit or other organization and its official profiles. It is normally used on the home or about page. Do not create conflicting Organization entities with different names or logos across your website.

Article or Blog Posting describes editorial content. Use the canonical article URL, an accurate headline, author, publication dates and a crawlable representative image. The modified date should only change when the article has received a meaningful update.

Product represents a specific product or service offer. Price, currency, availability and the landing-page URL must agree with what a visitor sees. When prices or stock change, update the structured data at the same time.

FAQ Page describes questions and answers displayed on the page. Google currently limits FAQ rich results to certain authoritative sites, but the markup can still help machines understand the content. Never add hidden or promotional questions solely for search engines.

Breadcrumb List communicates a page’s position in the site hierarchy. Each item needs a clear name and position. Keep the sequence consistent with the breadcrumb navigation visible to visitors.

FAQ

JSON-LD schema questions

What is JSON-LD schema markup?

JSON-LD is a machine-readable structured data format. It helps search engines connect a page with entities such as an organization, product, article or local business.

Where should I add JSON-LD in WordPress?

You can place the generated script in the page head or body using a child theme, custom plugin, schema plugin or safe code insertion tool. Avoid creating duplicate markup if Yoast, Rank Math, WooCommerce or your theme already outputs the same entity.

Does valid schema guarantee a rich result?

No. It can make a page eligible for supported features, but Google decides when and whether to display them.

Should I add every schema type to every page?

No. Use only types that accurately describe the specific page and visible content. More markup is not automatically better.

Is my information sent to the server?

No. This generator builds the output locally in your browser and does not submit your entered values.
